Asheville, North Carolina is a beautiful place to visit.  Snuggled in the Pisquah National Forest, Asheville is home to the Biltmore Estate and where forestry began.

I spent the day in Asheville, NC with my Mom, Bonnie wilcome from Glasgow, KY, and we took the trolly ride.  It was nice to be able to get our bearings as far as what we wanted to see and do.  It was $18 for the 80 minute tour.  You can catch the trolly in the morning and be dropped off at various locations around Asheville, spend an hour or so and catch it again to the next stop.

We didn’t get a chance, but if we’d had just one more hour in the day, we would have enjoyed a proper English afternoon tea at Chelsea’s and the Village Team Room.  Visit their website at www.chelseastea.com.  You will need to make reservations or chance not being able to get a seat.

They offer a beautiful menu of French lunch and brunch items as well as signature desserts and tea.  You will find Chelsea’s Tea in the Biltmore Village.  This is where Mother and I caught the trolly to begin our tour of the Asheville districts.  They are open daily.  Lunch is served beginning at 11:30, Afternoon tea is served at 3:30 and brunch is served on Sundays from 10:30 to 3:00.

The little shoppe we were in where I was looking at quilts is called Recollections.  The cottage was built by George Vanderbuilt 100 years ago and features wonderful gifts. Visit their website at www.recollectionsinbiltmore.com.
